if there is a "disc number" field, then reset the "track number" for each disc, otherwise, just run 'em sequentially I guess.

Dang, I should start tagging my flacs huh?

maybe someday there will be a script to update all the files on the petabox!? although changing tags would change the MD5 results. . . but not the ffp's. . . Hm.

I think the field was designed for single albums, hence my uncertainty about what might be correct for multi-disc sets. Since I don't use the field or even know it might be used for, I'm hoping for feedback from someone who actually cares.

Yes, changing the tags will affect md5s, but not fingerprints. This is (one of the reasons) why md5s are deprecated for flac filesets. I've stopped providing md5s for my filesets just to keep people from trying to use them for identification purposes.

edit: I don't know if you *should* start tagging your flacs, but I think it's a nice little extra bonus feature you *can* provide.
